AFRICA NOW BILLBOARD MAGAZINE COVER - DAVIDO, TIWA AND MR EAZI

Tiwa Savage, Davido, and Mr. Eazi are not slowing down at their enterprise in the Music industry globally. They have earned respect for their names when it comes to Afrobeat music worldwide. And now featured in the Billboard Magazine cover tagged Africa Now as a form of global recognition to their sounds.

Africa is the next musical revolution to be brewed. This has made the likes of Waner Records, Universal Records, Sony, and other international record labels looking at how they could tap into the Africa music industry to join the brew.

It is no doubt that the internet and social media have been able to set the mark for African sounds
at a faster pace, and now the same African sounds that weren't so cool back then, have been gaining reception, nominations, and great new vibes of acceptance globally.

In 2016, Nigeria's Wizkid topped the Billboard Hot 100, as a collaboration on Drake's Summer Smash " One Dance ". This hinted at the possibilities and potentials that lie in the African music talent pool.

In a virtual interview with Billboard, Davido admitted it was a challenge to keep true to the African sound when he was working on a signed project in the UK as far back as 2015. He had to choose between singing what he was been told to sing or either what he thinks is going to pop as an African sound. And truly he had chosen well enough to promote and stick to the African sound to this level. He did had to go back to Nigeria and started making the kind of music he likes to do. And the first smash hit after then was "If".

Tiwa Savage also shared her view about how she looks forward to the time when Afrobeats Artiste will get the same global campaign such as the ones gotten by American Artiste. She said if given such kind of global campaign, the likes of Davido and Mr. Eazi would have been Billionaires by now. According to her, they never get the push given to most American Artiste. What they seem to be enjoying now is a result of blood, sweat, and tears.

Mr. Easi who has not been signed to any major record label in his career also revealed how he worked his way up to stardom independently by believing and continuously investing in himself. On another hand he revealed how his record label has been investing in young African talents across Africa and the little difference in the African sounds popularly classified as Afrobeats.
